Feel like the Only Girl in the World

"Be selfish and do something for just you once in a while. Treat yourself like you were the only human being, the only guy and the only girl in the world. Nobody loves you and wish you happiness more than you. Trust me, you will feel like a new you after the retreat!" JN

Hello Lovely,
Have you ever felt like you needed some alone time, from your family, your friends, and your work? Like, you needed to go somewhere far where you'd be alone and be free to do whatever you want, for example, eat a mega big burger with your hands and not worry about cleaning up your mouth right away.

My day has finally came. Two days ago I felt like it was time for me to take some perspective and forget about everything that was going on in my life. It has never happened to me to feel overwhelmed but between juggling with work, study, exams, boyfriend, remodeling my apartment, applying for med schools and grad schools, blogging, etc, I thought it was time for to have a date with myself! It was time to treat myself really and forget about the rest of the world. So I put away my books, turned off my computer, my cellphone , everything else and told my family and friends to let me be by myself for 24h.
[Wearing]: T.J. Maxx peach lace dress and blue chiffon blouse | Whole-sale belt | Trench coat (very old!) | H&M and Charlotte Russe jewelry | Envelope Bag from ebay |Aviator sunglasses | BCBG leopard penny loafers/driving moccasin

I decided to wear something new, different from my everyday style and that I haven't worn in a longtime. The first thing that I saw when I opened up my closet was that peach lace dress (yes it's a dress) so I decided to pair it with a blue chiffon top to kind of break the monotone of peach color in the outfit and since that peach dress is more of an "special occasion" item, I paired it with the chiffon blouse to make it wearable for everyday use. The rest was built around the dress and the blouse.

I went to visit a small city, Old forge, that is approximately 1h away from where I live and I went to eat at Kirby's on my way back. The food was really great, I ate for two! What I liked the most was the 'Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri' with its strawberry sweetness and sourness at the same time.

If you want to try, I ate: Chopped Cobb Salad ($8.99), Fresh Angus Kirby Burger with no cheese ($7.49), and for desert I got the mini chocolate Hot Fudge Sundae ($2.50)

I did eat a lot and while I was ordering the waitress was looking at me with a weird eye and she kept making comments like: "our portions are very big... You know you can order the salad first and if you're not full I'll bring you more... Is that all? Are we going for desert too tonight?..." but I didn't care, she was not saying it in a mean way!

P.S. I also went to the movie theater to watch "The Possession", which is a very good scary movie. Although you're alone, be careful, the World can be very dangerous and they will also notice that you are alone!

Now we come to the end of this post! Thank you very much for reading it!

You went to Old Forge! I've been there, too! It's beautiful up there! And your outfit is great, again! It inspired me to think how I could dress down my "special occasion dresses" for everyday use... I sometimes feel like I have more clothes for special occasions than for Mon-Fri work... :)

Life can get so hectic - I know how you feel. It's good to be able to set time aside just for yourself to de-stress.. something I really probably should do too!

I love that you had such a big feast all to yourself :) Cute outfit too, love the colours you put together :)

Thanks for the visit over to my blog! I'd love for us to follow each other. Following you now - keep in touch!

I love this post! I really know what you mean; the whole last year I was just hoping that all the "compulsory" work would end and I would have time to myself! Why is it so hard to remember that you always have a right to take a little break and be with yourself?

Btw, you have a great blog, I'm now following via GFC and Bloglovin'! Hope u follow back :)

I know exactly how you feel, sometimes it is just so nice to get away from everything and recharge!
(Btw, I went through the whole grad school application process and at the time I kind of wished that I had someone to turn to if I had questions etc...so please feel free to ask me anything if you want to!)

Best,
