Tan & Red

Hello Lovelies,
I finally made my first envelope clutch from scratch and I love it. I watched a video on youtube (click here) and I gotta admit this, it was easier than I thought it would be!

[Wearing]: H&M black suede low heels (similar here)| H&M tan jeggings (kind of like these)| Forever 21 black and brown polka dot chiffon shirt (similar here)| Sheinside black leather peplum jacket (here)| DIY red envelope clutch (cheap here)| 80's purple sunglasses Oversized cat eye sunglasses (here)| Jewelry: Macy's, H&M, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe

I chose to add my red clutch to my tan outfit just to kind of add a pop color to a monotone outfit and I think that this way of combining he elements of my outfits, elevated it and made it pleasant to the eye, more youthful, and more playful (I guess ha!).

Happy Wednesday and thanks for reading :)

Neon & Military Gold

Hello Lovelies,
Taking good pictures when it's super sunny outside is....let me just say: HARD! What's even harder is when it's sunny but not warm because then it's hard to get a warm color on the pictures. I was having trouble getting a picture with the right color of the skirt. The skirt was in between peach and neon pink but on the picture it looks peach and then neon pink (I still like it though ha!).
But well we just need to cope with that, don't we?

There's something about Neon that I can't seem to get over. I love it and I love it even more when it's paired with gold because, in my opinion, it accentuates the neon color and makes it pleasing to the eye. Of course, an outfit will not be complete without a little bit of animal print (ha!).

[Wearing]: Christian Louboutin leopard print pumps (old! but similar here, and more similar here) | American Apparel neon skirt (here) | H&M gold sweater (old! here and similar here) | Green military jacket (very old! but similar here) | Steve Madden two toned clutch | Jewelry: Macy's and H&M

Wish you a Happy Monday/Happy week and thank you for reading :)

[Guest Post] Granny Chic to Afro-Bohemian: NY Trends for Fall 2012

Granny Chic to Afro-Bohemian: NY Trends for Fall 2012
By Alexandra Jacobs

Found here, here, and here

According to Harpers Bazaar, the fall trends for the staple New York City style, include a retro mix of lace and floral, knit tweeds, and shawls. Seems like we'll be raiding our grandma's closets this fall!

Another trend that seems to be emerging is chic sport, creating that classy relaxed feel. Fur accents, elegant embroidery, and black leather seems to be hitting the runway enabling multiple stye senses allowing a bite of the big apple to taste different every time.

Some of the famous names this fall was Marc Jacobs, sending his models out with exaggerated shapes and cartoon size accessories. Fuzzy sweaters, loopy crochet shawls, and nubby tweeds at Oscar de la Renta, and Tory Burch lead to the granny chic trend that is emerging this fall.

Found here

Now looking at the fall trends for Brooklyn we see a lot of black and whites and leather accents. These trends create a more edgy girly feel to your style and let you explore your style boundaries. Brooklyn is taking a unique twist on the all-popular tribal print prevalent in many shops across the world. In shops such as Forever 21, tribal prints "chock a block" with African inspired prints in sticky synthetic fabrics. "Brooklynites" whose tastes hew closer to Humans of New York than H&M can just as easily invest in the August-ready real thing.

Calabar imports one of Brooklyn's newest stores are made of 100% Nigerian cotton unlike the flimsy flocks that line the stores now. The main trend going on in Brooklyn is referred to "Afro-Bohemian." Beaded Masai bangles, Taureg-style woven bracelets, and wax-print cotton clothing are erupting in stores all over Brooklyn.

Taking a look at the cheaper side of things, thrift stores have fall trends showing up for little money. Big trends showing up are: big stripes, whether it be a Parisienne boatneck or striped trousers, navajo patterns showing up in shirts, pants, dresses, scarves, etc, haircalf accessories, namely in crossbody bags, color block separates, any type of clothing being fair game in this, and the last trend this fall is scottish-inspired tartan, showing up in skirts, being paired with solid, plain basics. This fall we can see many trends emerging, and many trends fusing summer into fall.

New display of "New In"

Hello Lovelies,
I have recently received and bought new items that I wanted to share with you guys. Instead of displaying all the stuffs on a table or chair (hard surface) I thought I should just model them for you to kind of give them some life :). The whole outfit looks a little bit too much but decided to wear my items like this in order to display all the items at once.

Wearing: H&M pink and blue clutch | Gojane peach chiffon shirt | Charlotte Russe animal print necklace | Shiekh red animal print booties | Forever 21 mustard pants | Macy's black oversized hat

Do you like this new way of displaying what's new in my closet?
Thanks for reading :)

Hello Lovelies,
Although yesterday it was a great sunny day, today it's pouring like crazy. I don't get this weather!
Since it was sunny yesterday, me and a friend decided to go for a shopping trip at Woodbury Common Premium Outlet and it was kind of crowded even though it was on a Monday!

Bref, I wore this outfit and I wish I had brought my camera to get more pictures of the place, which was a great place for some good shots!

Comme les garcons

"A cause des garcons on se crepe le chignon"

[Wearing]: Christian Louboutin leopard pumps (old! but similar here, and more similar here) | Boyfriend's trousers (very old!) | H&M striped sweater (new!) | Michael kors brown leather handbag (kind of similar here)| Accessories: H&M | 80's Purple sunglasses (here

Hello Lovelies,
They say: "think like a man and act like a lady" how about we dress like a man with our ladies clothes?!
I love this outfit because it's so comfortable and I don't lose my feminine side when I wear it. I decided to wear it when I was organizing my boyfriend's birthday so between ordering a cake, food, and reserving activities, I needed to be able to move around with ease so I went for my most comfy heels and these trousers have so many pockets so it's practical to put my lists that I constantly had to refer to in order to know what I was supposed to do next.

So comfy I can even jump in them (ha!) !!

Thanks for reading and listening to the music while reading ( :) )

One day Two outfits

"Once upon a time there was a little girl who dreamed that one day she will have her own blog, which she will cherish and love with all her heart...lol...I'm stopping my cr*p here!!"

Hello Lovelies,
Today is the end of NYFW and it's time to go back to our normal lives and no more tuning in Youtube to watch the runways live. Yesterday, I decided to wear my mint jeans, from gojane.com, one last time before completely transitioning into my fall 2012 color palette.

[Wearing]: Urbanog brown and black cap-toe heels | Gojane mint jeans | H&M blouse | Accessories: Charlotte Russe and H&M | Michael Kors brown leather satchel

Unfortunately, I spilled hot chocolate on me (don't worry I survived that attack from the hot chocolate cup and did not get burnt ha!) so I had to change into something else before someone thinks that I've not yet graduated from Potty training College!

[Wearing]: urbanog cap-toe pumps | Floral dress (very old!) | H&M stripes top | Forever21 peach hat | Jewelry: Charlotte Russe, Forever21, and H&M | Michael Kors leather brown satchel

Which one is your favorite?

Time for some transitioning

"My style is not monotone no matter what's the season. Use the Autumn color palette to style me up colorfully for this season."

Hello Lovelies,
It's getting colder and colder everyday so it's time for us to get our sweaters out (Not againnn!!) and start incorporating them in our outfits.

[Wearing]: Urbanog brown and black cap toe heels | H&M green jeans (similar here)| Urban outfitters black and white striped shirt | H&M mustard yellow sweater | Michael Kors brown satchel | Jewelry: Charlotte Russe and H&M

Have you started transitioning from your summer outfits into your autumn outfits?

Thanks for reading :) !!

The Week Through My Lens

Hello Lovelies,
My week was pretty calm and relaxed in general. I had nothing important to do except working on some DIY projects, watching TV, reading my favorite magazines and of course shopping and going to the beach. It felt like I was pretty much on a vacation (not typical to the ones I usually take, which are usually filled of extreme sports)

New In

Quick trip to the Jo~ann Store

Always feel like a kid when I go to a crafts store because I want to buy everything!!

How was your week?

Scarf Me Up + link to 2012 NYCFW

Hello Lovelies,
Did you watch Day 1 of Spring 2012 NYC Fashion Week? My favorite collection was Tadashi Shoji's collection. The dresses were vividly and vibrantly colorful, but not overpowering!
[Wearing]: Urbanog brown and black cap toe heels | H&M black skirt | Forever21 Blouse | Michael Kors brown leather satchel | Jewelry: H&M and Charlotte Russe.

I was planning on wearing a belt but I think the look is better without it :) !!

Just a quick reminder, you can watch like me the runways online if you couldn't attend the events and if you can't wait to see the images the next day! Here's the link I'm using:

What else? Rihanna was amazing last night at the VMAs!!Hers (#1) and Pink's performance where the best in my opinion:
